Infuriating sunset and birthday bears

The sky around here can be quite something. There was a pretty sunset the other night. I took a bunch of photos. Think this one turned out the best.

Doesn't it just make you seethe with rage? Argh! The beauty of nature just makes me SO ANGRY!!!

Anyhoo, I've recently had to bid farewell to being an angsty teen, as my birthday just passed. I doubt you need much time to wonder what my presents were...

Finnbarr was from my Dad. He is named after a character from Sharon Creech's book The Great Unexpected. His fur feels almost like real cat fur. And sheds kinda like it, too.

Well-lo came in a package from my Mom. His name came from misreading the telegram that came with him, upon which was written, "...NAME HIM WELL. LO AND BEHOLD..." Eheheh. Heh...
He appears to be from a fancy gift company called Mrs. Fields, and cookies were included.

Because I think it should

More obscure book fan art! This one is of The Candymakers by Wendy Mass. I love the way she backs up in time for each POV switch.

And here's...

Sleepy Pompous Bear, as evidenced by his attire and expression. Another one I've had forever, who disappeared and reappeared together with Plain Bear. He's the bear with which one wards off hangovers.

Fall decorating

Sick of photo posts yet? Well too bad.

Halloween is approaching! Time to start the decorating.

Today we spent a lot of time making this.

Check out all its majesty!

We also have

Least popular gourd display, with our very own shock of corn. (At least the corn crop was good for SOMETHING.)

And we gathered some of the nicest leaves the other day!

We strung 'em together to make a garland.

And here's some more trees and stuff.

Kettle River

Mille Lacs Lake on a hazy day. Just try to find the horizon! Just TRY!
